If you are a new or returning user to AustNet you might want to secure your nickname so no one else can use it. With a registered nick, you may effectively own it. This means that if someone is using your nick when you come online, you may recover it. It will also allow you to be added to channels so you can perform channel maintenance and fun commands.
To register a new nickname, use the following command:
/NickOP REGISTER <password> <email>
Please note the following:
- Your password must contain at least one non-alphabetic character (a number, or symbol)
- Your email address must be valid, and will require authentication before use
